OUR PROGRAMS

Middle School & High School

Middle School — Grades 9 to 12 have block schedules with hour and half classroom experiences twice a week with instruction provided by CAS master teachers and subject matter experts in the following areas of study: English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics (MATH), Science & Technology (STEM), and Social Studies (SOC) during the morning sessions; Art (ART), Music (MUS), Physical & Moral Education (PME), and their choice of World Language (WL) or English as a Second Language (ESL) during the afternoon sessions. Students take breaks at 10:15 AM and 2:15pm each day and lunch packs are heated and served at 1230 PM.

Parents must indicate prior to school start (on the CAS Application for Admission form) their child’s spoken language at home and 1st and 2nd choices for their child’s World Language (WL) preference. If English is not spoken at home, the 1st choice for WL must be English as a Second Language (ESL is offered as an After-School Club as well) and the 2nd choice may be the parents’ preference.

For Middle School and High School, parents must also indicate on a program scheduling survey sent out by the Student Services Coordinator at the beginning of each term which musical instrument the student would like to take up in their Music (MUS) classes — piano, percussion, guitar, violin, or voice.

For all EC, MS, & HS levels, parents must indicate on a program scheduling survey sent out by the After-School Club (ASC) Coordinator at the beginning of each term their 2 (twice a week) selections for participation in any offered ASC activity.

CAS Middle School & High School Curriculum

The Canadian American School offers a wide variety of courses based on American curriculum models, with our educational/instructional materials sourced from the United States, Edgenuity, and internationally. The high school course of study options reflect a college preparatory school environment, with an option for Advanced Placement (AP) courses in a variety of upper level subjects. Canadian American School has a well-qualified faculty with staff from the United States, Canada, and other western countries, in addition to native English-speaking host-country nationals from and the Philippines. Our school’s low student to teacher ratio ensures great relationship building with kids and faculty, promoting a wonderful school atmosphere. Thank you for taking the time to review our CAS course list, and please feel free to discuss this information with our staff, at your convenience
